Lyden House
Youngstown State University
Youngstown, Ohio

Lyden House is a 72,000 SF, five story Residence Hall for 300 students. It was the first new residence hall to be built at Youngstown State since the early 1960s. Facilities include double-bedded rooms, handicapped rooms, six resident advisor rooms, a resident manager’s apartment, study rooms and activity spaces.
The building, as part of a larger master plan, borrows its architectural character from Jones Hall, the earliest campus building.
Balog Steines Hendricks & Manchester wrote the Building Program as part of its services to Youngstown State University. The firm also wrote specifications for all interior furnishings and selected all lobby and study room furnishings. Each room has telephone service, cable TV availability, and a computer terminal to YSU’s main frame.
Size: 14,000 sf
