Starling PK-8 is a three-story school that includes classrooms, media center, student dining, gymnasium, and various support spaces. The constrained site has a total area of only 5.317 acres, is an urban setting, the site accommodates students who walk as well as ride bicycles to school.

There is a large outdoor learning area, and the lines between interior and exterior are blurred by a central gallery space.
